ԱՄՆ-ում 91 տարեկանում մահացել է տղամարդկանց կուլտային Playboy ամսագրի հիմնադիր և գլխավոր խմբագիր Հյու Հեֆները: Ինչպես հայտնել են Playboy Enterprises-ում, Հեֆները մահացել է Լոս Անջելեսում գտնվող իր տանը, գրում է The Daily Mail-ը:

«Հայրս ապրում էր որպես զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների և մշակույթի առաջամարտիկ, որը կանգնած է եղել ժամանակակից աշխարհի ամենանշանակալի սոցիալական և մշակութային շարժումներից մի քանիսի հետևում՝ ի պաշտպանություն խոսքի ազատության, քաղաքացիական իրավունքների և սեռական ազատության»,- People ամսագրին ասել է Հյու Հեֆների որդին՝ Playboy Enterprises-ի գեղարվեստական տնօրեն Կուպեր Հեֆները:

Հեֆները ծնվել է 1926 թվականին, Չիկագոյում, հավատացյալ ընտանիքում, որտեղ սեքսի մասին երբեք չէր խոսվում: Հեֆների խոսքով՝ ընտանիքում ծնողները երբեք չէին ցույց տալիս սերը ո՛չ ֆիզիկական, ո՛չ էմոցիոնալ առումով:

«Իմ այսպիսին լինելու պատճառը մասամբ իմ շատ խորը պուրիտանական արմատներն են»,- ասել էր նա AP գործակալությանը 2011 թվականին:

Ինչպես գրում է կայքը, իր բրենդի խորհրդանիշը դարձած ճագարների նկատմամբ սերը սկսվել էր մանկական վերմակը զարդարող նկարներից: Տարիներ անց Ֆլորիդա Քիս արշիպելագում վտանգված կենդանատեսակների ցանկում ընդգրկված ճագարի մի ենթատեսակ անվանվեց նրա անունով՝ Sylvilagus palustris hefneri:

Առաջին համարի հրատարակման համար Հեֆները ստիպված է եղել պարտքով գումար վերցնել, այդ թվում՝ իր մորից: Այն անգամ ամսաթիվ չուներ նշված, քանի որ Հեֆները կասկածում էր, որ ամսագիրը երկրորդ համար կունենա: Որոշ ժամանակ անց, սակայն, Playboy-ը դարձավ աշխարհում տղամարդկանց ամենավաճառվող ամսագիրը:

Ամսագրի հայտնիության գագաթնակետին՝ 1970-ականներին, Playboy-ի տպաքանակը հասնում էր 7 միլիոնի: Վերջին տարիներին, սակայն, ամսագրի տպաքանակն արդեն չէր գերազանցում 800 հազարը:
