Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun: Hayrusgazard's Karapetyan to become next mayor of Yerevan

11:19 • 15.12.10

A message posted yesterday in one of the social networks says that Karen Karapetyan, head of the Hayrusgazard company, "will be appointed" Yerevan mayor, the paper says.

"The author of the message is a serious person and he wouldn’t have posted the message if he wasn't sure about it," the paper says.

However, the paper says, there are persistent rumors that the Russians don't like the idea and have told President Serzh Sargsyan to find someone else for the job as they need Karapetyan at Hayrusgazard.

But it looks like Sargsyan has found someone who can replace Karapetyan at Hayrusgazard, the paper says, so Karapetyan's becoming mayor looks a done deal.
