Border tension unlikely to develop into war – Armenian ex-MP
22:26 • 07.06.12

In an interview with Tert.am, Myasnik Malkhasyan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and former MP, said he does not think the border tension may develop into large-scale hostilities.
On the other hand, “nothing can be ruled out,” he said.
“The problem has not been resolved, shooting and encounters have been frequent over the years. After a long ceasefire, the situation may be a little strained now. But I do not think the situation will develop into large-scale hostilities,” Malkhasyan said.
The geopolitical developments do not suggest that the present tension may develop into large-scale hostilities either, he said.
As regards his personal attitude to possible resumption of hostilities, Malkhasyan said he sees himself where he “should be.” “I have always been side by side with my people, and it will be so this time,” he said.
