RPA Executive Body’s meeting over in Armenia’s capital

The Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has completed its meeting at the RPA central office.

The issue of Armenia’s new government was on the agenda.

The RPA leadership headed by RPA Chairman, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan participated in the meeting.

Following the meeting, RPA Spokesman, Vice-Speaker of Armenia’s parliament Eduard Sharmazanov informed journalists that, pursuant to RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan, the RPA Executive Body discussed the issue of Armenia’s government and approved the president-proposed candidates.

Below is the list of the ministers and nominees for ministerial posts representing the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA):

Armen Gevorgyan, nominee for minister of territorial administration
Artem Asatryan, nominee for minister of labor and social affairs
Derenik Dumanyan, nominee for minister of health
Hrair Tovmasyan, nominee for minister of justice
Armen Yeritsyan, minister of emergency situations (Rule of Law party)
Edward Nalbandian, minister of foreign affairs
Aram Harutyunyan, nominee for minister of nature protection
Tigran Davtyan, nominee for minister of economy
Armen Movsisyan, nominee for minister of energy and natural resources
Armen Ashotyan, nominee for minister of education and science
Hasmik Poghosyan, nominee for minister of culture
Seyran Ohanyan, minister of defense
Hranush Hakobyan, nominee for minister of diaspora
Gagik Beglaryan, nominee for minister of transport and communication
Vache Gabrielyan, nominee for minister of finance.
Also, the Rule of Law party holds the portfolios of minister of agriculture and urban development.

At its sitting on Friday, the party’s Political Council decided to nominate Samvel Tadevosyan to the post of minister of urban development and Sergo Karapetyan to the post of minister of agriculture.

Chairman of the Basketball Federation of Armenia Hrachya Rustamyan is a likely candidate for the post of minister of sport and youth affairs. He was a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) and, as PAP Spokesman Tigran Urikhanyan told Tert.am, left the party “some time ago.”

On June 18, Armenia’s newly formed government is to hold its first and special meeting. Reliable sources informed Tert.am that the government’s program will be on the meeting agenda. On June 20, the government is to submit its program to Armenia’s parliament.
