Yerevan mayor meets members of Japanese association

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has received representatives from the Japanese Association Soka Gakkai International (SGI).
According to a press release by the City Hall, the group which, is in Armenia upon the invitation of the Union of Artists’ president, is going to showcase the photos of their organization’s chief, Daisaku Ikeda.
Greeting the guests, Mayor Margaryan highlighted the high level of cooperation between Armenia and Japan, referring in that context to President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent state visit to the country and particularly, his tour of the Soka Gakkai University.
Praising the Association’s activities towards creating new values, the mayor expressed willingness to further the cooperation and launch joint projects. He told the guests that the cooperation with Japanese organizations enabled Armenia’s membership in the Mayors for Peace organization.
Thanking the mayor for the warm reception, the Association’s chief cxecutive, Kenji Yoshigo, briefed on their mission, noting that their president’s personal creative heritage has been showcased in 130 cities across the world. As for the Yerevan exhibition, he characterized it as a good opportunity for developing and deepening cooperation.
Mayor Margaryan extended his warm greetings to the Association’s 84-year-old president, saying that Yerevan is always open to all its good friends and guests.
