US to help Georgia in developing air defense

The US Department of State has stated about its support to the development of Georgia’s air defense as well as upgrading its helicopter park.
The statement is said to be made after the third annual plenary session of the US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission in Batumi on June 5 with participation of the US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.
“We discussed options to help Georgia develop its air surveillance and air defense and coastal surveillance capabilities as well as defensive combat engineer capabilities,” the US State Department’s statement runs.
