Zhoghovurd: Ruling party fails to appoint Gegharkunik governor

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) failed to appoint governor of Armenia’s Gegharkunik region. The issue has been decided to be postponed as MP Rafik Grigoryan is said not to wish to be appointed in the office.
The RPA cannot find a relevant candidate for the post. Citing its sources, the paper says RPA vice governor Artyusha Ghukasyan is carrying out intensive lobbying at the presidential residence to be entrusted the post. Zhoghovurd claims Ghukasyan is known for his criminal past and is the most convenient candidate. The paper claims the winners of all the tenders conducted in the region are the companies of his brother. Only in 2006-2007 Shant-Seyran company has received 21 million drams from the state for Madina irrigation program of which he embezzled 18 million.
The paper promised to refer to Ghukasyan’s “fresh adventures” in near future.
