Armenian government program not result of serious efforts – journalists

17:19 • 25.06.12

Aram Abrahamyan, Editor-in-Chief of the Aravot daily, does not think the Armenian government’s program is the result of serious efforts.

Otherwise, it would reflect the country’s acute problems. “I have been editor for 18 years, and in reading any piece of news or program I feel well whether efforts were made or not,” he said.

Among the government’s faults is that “no one has explained the reasons why the government failed to implement its last program.” So a new program is a pointless one.

Even the appointment of a new premier and government would be nothing but a cosmetic measure. The system proper is actually the problem, Abrahamyan said.

He does not expect any essential changes in Armenia’s socio-economic life. Abrahamyan calls on people to struggle for their rights.
