Georgia to be honored with UN special award

The United Nations has praised Georgia’s efforts towards enhancing the public services sector.
According to the Azerbaijani news agency Trend, the country’s Justice Ministry will host a special award ceremony in that connection later today.
The Ministry has said in a statement, that Georgia appears to be the only post-Soviet state to receive such honor. Similar awards were earlier granted to the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.
The Georgian delegation will later attend a UN annual conference which will address, among other things, the country’s fight against corruption.
