Georgia’s new cabinet named

Georgia’s new cabinet, to be headed by Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili, has been already named.
According to Civil Georgia, Bacho Akhalaia, who has been defense minister in the past three years, will become an interior minister, replacing Merabishvili.
Education Minister Dimitri Shashkin will replace Akhalaia as defense minister.
Khatia Dekanoidze, the former rector of the Police Academy, will replace Shashkin in the post of Education Minister.
Dali Khomeriki, who has served in the Tbilisi-based exiled Abkhaz government as an education minister, will replace Koba Subeliani in the post of minister in charge of IDPs.
The other ministers will reportedly remain in their posts.
