The Russian TV Channel Kultura (Culture) is presenting for the second time the Orbeli Code, a film telling about the renowned Armenian brothers-scholars descending from the princely family of Orbelians.

The authors of the movie are Ashot Jazoyan and Victoria Grudinskaya.

The Orbeli Code was first screened in March on the occasion of the 125^th birth anniversary the youngest brothers, Joseph Orbeli, who was the director of St. Petersburg’s Hermitage museum and the founder of the USSR Academy of Sciences. He was famed for his efforts of rescuing numerous world-renowned masterpieces from the Stalin-era repressions.

The film about the three renowned brothers, who for some reason had fallen into oblivion, is said to acquired a great reputation.

This time, the screening is dedicated to the 130^th birthday of Levon Orbeli, who was the vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the favorite student of Ivan Pavlov, the father of evolutionary physiology theorem.
