FC Shirak to play Montenegro’s most notorious team

13:41 • 05.07.12

In the first round of the European League Qualifiers, the sportsmen of the Gyumri-based football club Shirak are going to compete with Montenegro’s Rudar, a club known for its illicit reputation in the country.

Rudar is owned by two brothers - Darko Sarich and Dushko Sarich - both known to be the most notorious criminal figures across the country.

Darko has spent the past two years in prison, while his brother is said to be on the police wanted list.

The two brothers have been reportedly involved in illegal drug trafficking. The local residents have said the Sarichs have accumulated huge sums thanks to the drugs sale, adding that maintaining the club is not a big problem for them.
