The Parliamentary Assembly  of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has opened its Change of Region session in Monaco.

According to the Azerbaijani news agency APA, the opening event was attended by the Assembly’s president, Petros Efthymiou, Minister of State of Monaco Michel Roger, and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Eamon Gilmore.

The parliamentarians from the member states will hear and adopt resolutions in three main committees (political affairs and security, economics issues, environment and human rights).

A report by Lithuanian parliament member Vilia Abramikieni is expected to address unsettled conflicts, including that of Nagorno-Karabakh. Upon the completion of the meeting. a Monaco declaration will be adopted and the Assembly will elect a new president.

Around 270 parliamentarians from more than 50 countries will take part in the session’s activities. The Armenian delegation headed by Artashes Geghamyan (National Unity party) is also among the participants.
