On the initiative of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armenian political parties will hold their first round-table conference in Stepanakert, capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

The conference is scheduled for August 24 to 26, RPA Vice-Chairman Armen Ashotyan told journalists on Monday.

The parliamentary parties from both Armenia and NKR will participate in the conference – six from Armenia and three from the NKR. The conference will discuss the specific features of political parties’ activities in modern society, issues of public awareness, civil society, foreign relations. Invitations will be sent to all the political parties this week, Ashotyan said.

He hopes that the conference will enable Armenia’s politicians to impart their experience to their Nagorno-Karabakh counterparts.
