Armenian president receives Iranian delegation

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received on Monday an Iranian delegation led by Minister of the Interior Mostafa Mohammad Najjar.
The Armenian leader welcomed the guests and noted that high-ranking officials’ mutual visits are evidence of mutual willingness to consolidate Armenian-Iranian friendship and develop business ties.
President Serzh Sargsyan stressed that during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Armenia late last year the sides held effective discussions and reached bilateral agreements on cooperation in various areas. Relevant work to implement the agreements is under way, the Armenian leader said.
The sides stressed the importance of developing Armenian-Iranian cooperation at the regional level, which will consolidate the centuries-old bilateral relations. In this context, the sides pointed out the Armenian community’s important role.
