Co-chairs promise Karabakh’s participation in peace talks

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group have said in Stepanakert that the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) will join the current conflict settlement talks sometime in the future.
But the diplomats have not reportedly specified any timeframes for such development.
According to the Armenian service of RFE/RL, the Russian co-chair said that the negotiation format may expand once the key activities focus on a peace agreement.
The mediators in the conflict settlement talks, Ambassadors Robert Bradtke of the United States, Jacques Faure of France and Igor Popov of Russia crossed the Line of Contact from the Azerbaijani side on Wednesday together with NKR President Bako Sahakyan and acting Foreign Minister Vasiliy Atajanyan.
An official statement released earlier on Wednesday said that the president called upon the co-chairs to continue their activities towards bringing Azerbaijan into a constructive stream and resume the full negotiation format.
As part of their regional tour to the South Caucasus, the co-chairs yesterday visited Baku. They are due in Yerevan on Thursday.
