The annual Best Sporting Family competitionw have closed in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor.

Serzh Sargsyan attended the final round on Saturday to congratulate the winners qualifying for a presidential prize.

According to a press release by the Presidential Office, today’s event saw a competition among the successful participants of the previous rounds.

Like the previous years, the participants of the ninth annual competitions were divided into three age groups, competing in six sporting events.

Congratulating the winners, the president noted with satisfaction that the contest is gaining an increasing popularity, attracting more and more participants by every year.

The president said that that apart from its health benefits, sports is also useful in terms of contributing to solidarity in families.

“Family solidarity helps overcome the existing difficulties in life, making us more optimistic in general. And a united family is an important component of the society,” he said, adding that any victory, despite its size, is great if it is reached in a fair struggle.

The presidents submitted certificates, money awards and souvenirs to the winners.

Children from 108 families participating in the competitions also received sport uniforms and small gifts from the president.
