Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received on Tuesday Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches of the Roman Curia.

The Armenian president conveyed his best wishes to Benedict XVI. Speaking of his visit to Vatican and meeting with the Pope, the Armenian leader stressed it was a good opportunity to discuss prospects of Armenia-Vatican relations.

Cardinal Leonardo Sandri conveyed the Pope’s best wishes to the Armenian president and people. He noted that Armenia is a country seeking peace with all the nations, and his visit is a sign of respect for Armenia.
