Vice President of the National Assembly Hermine Naghdalyan received on Wednesday Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Tian Chan Chun.

Hailing the diplomat’s meeting in Armenia’s parliament, Naghdalyan highly praised his efforts towards deepening and strengthening the Armenian-Chinese relations and effective cooperation in most different sectors.

The ambassador congratulated Naghdalyan on taking office, noting that her being elected a vice speaker of parliament is a good example and proof of how a woman can reach a high status in politics.

Chan Chun told the Armenian vice speaker that his country attaches much importance to women’s representation and active involvement in politics and other spheres, and invests more and more efforts in that direction.

He expressed willingness to make the dialogue between women’s NGO’s of the two countries more active.


Naghdalyan, who is also the president of the ruling Republican Party’s Women’s Council, highly appreciated the idea, conveying to the ambassador her invitation to Chinese women activists to visit Armenia for.

The sides also considered possibilities of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation, emphasizing the importance of deepening bilateral ties in those sectors.
