Leader of Armenia’s Communist Party Ruben Tovmasyan said the party is still undecided over the format of participation in 2013 presidential elections. The party has not decided whether to have its own candidate in the elections or not.

Speaking to reporters today the party’s leader forecasted that people who previously participated in the elections and failed will again run for presidency.

Referring to nominations of the former presidents, the party’s leader said, “If one of them will be nominated it will be a misfortune, if the two, it will be a tragedy and if the all three guess yourself what will be,” he said.

Asked whether the party will join the discussion over the united opposition candidate, Ruben Tovmasyan said he does not see any political force close to their ideology.

He concluded that till now the ideologies of parties are not clear. “It will be seen during nominations. The parties leaders see themselves as presidents and it will be difficult for them to restrain their ambitions for consolidating over a joint candidate,” he said, noting that opposition has already showed its real face not being able to gather necessary 44 signatures to convene special sitting on Harsnaqar case.
