Armenian-Georgian issues need solution, MP Shirak Torosyan says

The president of the community union Javakhk, Shirak Torosyan, who represents the Republican Party faction in National Assembly, speaking to Tert.am voiced the necessity of settlement of Armenian-Georgian issues.
“We are neighbors and there is no need to exercise hostile attitude toward each other. We need strength, political will to solve these issues and I think the ball is in Georgia’s field. They are the ones to make the first efficient step,” Torosyan said.
Referring to the news about being denied to enter Javakhq again, Torosyan said it is not a one-time decision and until it has not been changed he is not even trying to come close to the border.
When the MP was denied to cross the Georgian border for the first time he applied to the Armenian government which was to solve the issue through diplomatic way. Asked whether the efforts failed, Torosyan said, “The efforts were really made but the Georgian side was permanently stating that my entrance to Georgia is undesirable and that I am a threat for Javakhq and Georgia’s security.”
Torosyan claims that he is acting publicly and his statements about Javakhq issues have not been refuted by any international organizations and experts, but were fixed in international reports. “It means that they too register that rights of ethnic minorities, in particular Javakhq Armenians, are being violated in Georgia.”
The MP said the issues of Javakhq Armenians should be solved by establishing good neighborly relations with Georgia. According to him, the issues should not be hidden but solved. At the same time Torosyan said he is optimistic and believes one day the issues will be solved.
