Armenian ambassador to Argentina Vahagn Melikyan met with Argentina's Foreign Minister Hector Timerman.

According to the press release of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the Argentine FM said his country supports the negotiation process over the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and is for peaceful settlement of the conflict.

María del Carmen Squeff, Under-Secretary for Foreign Policy was also present at the meeting.

The interlocutors also discussed a number of issues on bilateral relations, legal-contractual field, as well as referred to the issues on organization of reciprocal visits.

Hector Timerman has accepted the invitation of the Armenian foreign minister to visit Armenia during the coming months. An arrangement has been achieved over accomplishing a number of agreements being in the preparation phase and over signing them during the visits.

Argentine minister was interested in the spheres which can promote the mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

Ambassador Melikyan elaborated on Armenia’s economic situation, the existing investment field and opportunities. Agriculture, healthcare, IT, tourism, recovering energy spheres have been stressed as possible areas for cooperation.

Speaking about the Argentine Armenian community, the minister said it has its important role in the country’s public, political, economic and cultural life.
