Information Technology (IT) sphere has registered a positive dynamics in the first half of 2012, Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan told the reporters on Monday, summing up the works of the ministry in the first half of the running year.

“This sphere is of great significance for us, being the important branch of our economy. It is the important industrial branch as well,” the minister said.

“The reconstruction works of the main building of Gyumri technopark started recently. In near future we will have a center corresponding to international standards,” the minister said, adding that discussions are being held with the World Bank over construction of a network of centers.

Tigran Davtyan said such centers will be built in Armenia’s towns having high-tech development potential.

The minister stressed that the works will be continuative aimed at improving business and investment atmosphere.

Referring to small and medium-sized entrepreneurship, he said intensive works are being carried out in the sphere.
