Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received on Tuesday the delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, president’s press office reported.

The president voiced hope that Naryshkin’s visit will give new impetus to the dynamically developing Armenian-Russian strategic relations.

Serzh Sargsyan rated high State Duma chairman’s personal contribution to the reinforcement of friendly ties between the two countries, stressing that Armenia is interested in deepening bilateral relations based on firm historic grounds.

Armenia’s president noted that Armenian-Russian unbreakable relations are Armenia’s safety milestone.

The Russian top official, in his turn, stressed the high level of strategic relations between the two countries, saying Russia highly values the development of relations with Armenia, intensified significantly during the recent years.

Naryshkin rated high the role of inter-parliamentary diplomacy in reinforcement of bilateral relations, stressing that together with their parliamentary partners in Armenia they will do everything possible to expand ties between the two friendly peoples and countries.
