The Lebanese-based dance ensemble Arin is going to give a concert at Yerevan’s Hakob Paronyan Musical Comedy Center on Friday evening.
The event is being organized as part of the pan-national festival My Armenia.
The ensemble was founded by the Armenian General Benevolent Union in Lebanon in the 1960s. But it its activities were suspended periodically due to the civil wars in the country.
In 2011, the ensemble was named Arin, in memory of one of its members, Arin Cherchyan. It presently has 110 members in seven different groups. All the dancers, aged 6-30, are ethnic Armenians.
