Damascus committed to implement Annan peace plan: Syrian FM

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said on Sunday in Tehran that Damascus considers itself committed to Kofi Annan’s 6-point peace plan on Syria, IRNA news agency reports.
At a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi, he added in response to a question on possible talks between the Syrian government and the opposition groups that the groups are not committed to fulfill the plan.
The government tried to enter into talks with them but their terror acts deadlocked the negotiations, he said.
“We have called on the opposition parties to turn to negotiations with the government,” al-Moallem said.
