Extreme sport festival in Armenia’s Sevan

Extreme sport festival is to launch on Wednesday in Armenia’s town of Sevan. Some 3,000 athletes from seven countries, including from Germany, Russia, Turkmenistan, Georgia and Denmark, participate in the event.

 

The festival has been organized by Hay Extreme NGO and Hayas sea research club in cooperation with the defense, emergency situations ministries and Yerevan city hall.

 

Speaking to Tert.am, chairman of Hay Extreme NGO Arman Vardanyan said the goal of the event is to develop extreme sport in Armenia, promote the development of sport tourism.

 

“The festival propagates healthy lifestyle, will. It gives a big store of knowledge and is a new culture of sport rest,” Vardanyan said, adding that many in Armenia are fond of extreme sport. The festival is being conducted in Armenia for the first time.

 

Within the framework of the event, international diving contests will be conducted. The festival will be wrapped up on August 10.
