Mayoral elections in Armenia’s Talin pass in full compliance with May 6 parliamentary poll

The August 5 mayoral elections in Armenia’s town of Talin, passed in accordance with the traditions of May 6 parliamentary vote – obvious and full usage of resources, manipulations and oxidizing inks that have come to replace obvious stuffing, stealing of ballot boxes, and beating of observers, member of the Prosperous Armenia party Naira Zohrabyan, PAP candidate’s proxy, told Tert.am.
She claimed that what happened in Talin cannot be called as an expression of free will of the residents.
According to initial results, ruling Republican Party candidate Sargis Aramyan has been elected the town’s mayor getting 1,217 votes. Non-party Vorosh Khachatryan, enjoying the support of RPA MP Mnatsakan Mnatsakanyan received 840 votes, followed by the PAP candidate Vazgen Khachatryan with 817 votes.
Self-nominated Gagik Karapetyan, Edward Grigoryan received 190 and 28 votes respectively.
Out of 5,230 voters, 3,369 cast their ballots.
