On the 40th day of death of military doctor Vahe Avetyan a vigil ceremony was held in front of Harsnaqar restaurant where the doctor was severely beaten to death.

Among the gathered were political figures, civil society representatives, former MP Lilit Galstyan, Larisa Alaverdyan, members of Sardarapat initiative Garegin Chookaszian, Tigran Khzmalyan, activists of Armenian National Congress.

“The people gathered here came to pay tribute to the memory of Vahe Avetyan as well as to urge the state implement its commitment that is to defend its citizen and to ensure equality before law,” Lilit Galstyan said speaking to Tert.am. “And finally, the state must guarantee the safety of its citizen,” she added.

Later the participants marched to the mansion of the president of the Armenia’s Football Federation Ruben Hayraprtyan, but according to the arrangement between deputy police chief Robert Melkonyan and ethnographer Hranush Kharatyan, member of Vahe Avetyan NGO, the participants marched in front of the house not stopping in front of it.
