Members of the initiative demanding punishment of all the guilty in Harsnaqar restaurant conducted today a protest rally in front of Chief Investigative Department of the Armenian police demanding to revise the one-day term given for the injured party and lawyers to get familiarized with the case.
Tigran Yegoryan, lawyer, said the one-day term is not a sensible time for getting acquainted with the case. We have petitioned for being provided a month time. This hastiness makes us think of serious issues to be still revealed,” Yegoryan said.
He also stressed they have sent the petition to the chief of the Investigative Department of the police, chief of the police, prosecutor general, human rights defender and president of the Bar Chamber.
Three military doctors were severely beaten in Harsnaqar restaurant on June 17, one of them, Vahe Avetyan died of injuries on June 29.
The members of the protest rally stressed they will not allow the case to be hushed up.
Six people have been arrested over the case, among them members of security guard of MP Ruben Hayrapetyan.
The investigation of the case was completed on Wednesday and has been sent to the parties for getting familiarized. Afterwards, it will be sent to court.
