Deputy territorial administration minister Vache Terteryan welcomed today a plane from Damascus bringing Syrian-Armenian children for summer rest in Armenia.
Speaking to reporters, the deputy minister said the flight has been financed by Prometey bank.
“Today we have implemented the first phase of the program which is being carried out within the framework of private sector-state cooperation. The children will stay in Armenia for 14 days, and will return back to Syria on August 23. We have reached initial arrangement to send two planes to Syrian Aleppo and bring 250-300 children to Armenia,” he said.
Vache Terteryan urged the relatives of the children not to take them from the camp as a number of events are scheduled for them.
Director of Lusabats camp Ashot Avetisyan said the occupation issue of the children has been solved. “Excursions, games, night expeditions will be organized,” he said.
Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan, who also went to welcome the Syrian-Armenian children, said according to initial arrangement the children will arrive from Aleppo on August 14.
“There are still issues connected with the documents of the children, the issue of planes have already been solved both by philanthropists and government,” she said.
