August 9 is Builders Day in Armenia.

An event dedicated to Armenian builders took place at the Moscow House in Yerevan, on Friday.

Attending the event were Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Minister of Urban Development Samvel Tadevosyan, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, as well as a number of architects.

The Armenian premier congratulated the builders. This professional holiday is an opportunity to appreciate Armenian builders’ work and see the progress in construction.

“It is common knowledge that Armenians have always had special respect for builders. Evidence thereof is the masterworks we have inherited, as well as the new architectural solutions by our architects,” Yeritsyan said.

Armenia has significant achievements and great potential in this field. He wished all the architects the creative work that would enable further generation to enjoy its results.

Minister Samvel Tadevosyan expressed hope that, in cooperation with builders, all the problems of the field can be resolved, and the quality of Armenia’s urban development will be upgraded.

He noted that the construction work in Armenia’s earthquake zone has not been scaled down. Thirty-eight blocks of flats will be commissioned in a month. A new construction program will soon be launched, which is to resolve the housing problem for about 1,000 citizens, Tadevosyan said.

Armenia’s premier awarded gold and commemorative medals to a number of builders and architects for their contribution to urban development.
