Syria’s governmental forces are slowly managing to restore the balance of forces in the civil war in Syria, Turkologist, director of Oriental Studies Institute Ruben Safrastyan told the reports on Monday.
“The rebels have retreated from Damascus, the governmental forces are succeeding in Aleppo as well,” Safrastyan said.
The expert said the recent events taking place in Syria allows to conclude that the ruling administration continues maintaining its position and the Syrian people are still by the side of the acting president Bashar Assad.
The expert stressed Turkey has two ways in Syria issue, it should either gradually reduce the assistance to Syrian rebels or forster its engagement.
“During this year Turkey had a very bad role in the solution of Syria’s issue,” Safratsyan said.
The Turkologist said Syria war has only harmed Turkey with the flow of emigrants becoming a very serious issue for that country. The expert said Turkey has also suffered financial losses and deteriorated relations with a number of states.
