Russia’s President Vladimir Putin handed state awards to members of Russia’s Olympic team, vz.ru reports.

Six women athletes have received 4th-degree Order for Merit to Motherland. A second-degree order has been granted to boxers Davit Hayrapetyan and Armenia-born Misha Aloyan.

Order of Honor has been granted to light athlete Natalya Antyukhina and volleyball player Sergey Tetyukhin.

Order of Friendship has been bestowed to 34 Olympic athletes, including ethnic Armenian judo fighter Arsen Galstyan who won first gold for Russia at London Olympics.

The Russian mass media also recalled the 2010 December fight between Arsen and then Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during the latter’s master class. At that time the photo of Putin overturned by Arsen was the most demanded in the whole world.
