Armenia’s ex-premier thinks high of himself

If Chairman of the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan runs for presidency, the ANC member Hrant Bagratyan will support him.
Otherwise, Mr Bagratyan does not think anyone else is superior to himself, Bagratyan said on air on Azatutyun radio.
Answering a question as to why the ANC leader did not become ANC parliamentary group chairman, Bagratyan said that “seven of us agreed not to speak of this.”
Answering a question about his business in Armenia, particularly about his shares in the Yerevan Brandy Company and Lusakert poultry farm, Bagratyan said he has no shares in either of them. On the other hand, his monthly salary at the Yerevan Brandy Company was AMD 7.5 million (about $20,000). It was not for nothing that the French partners paid the money to him. The company’s annual output was 1 million bottles when Bagratyan started working there, and it exceeded 4 million bottles when he left. “Our brandy output reached 15 million liters, which was the output in Soviet times. This is the only industry that regained production of the Soviet times,” Bagratyan said.
