Armenian church cross replaced with terrorist flag in Syrian city (photos, video)

An Islamist rebel group has launched a terrorist attack on an Armenian church in the Syrian city of Raqqa, replacing the Christian cross of an Armenian church with a terrorist flag.

A statement posted on several Facebook groups of Syrian-Armenians says the Islamist terrorist have hoisted a black flag symbolizing Al Qaeda on the church’s dome.

A video footage on the internet features the city’s residents attempting to return a church cross to its former place (but it isn’t known whether the cross belongs to an Armenian church in question).

People in Raqqa make calls of co-existence upon the Muslim and Christian residents of the city.

“The sacred values of the church have to be returned because there is only one Syrian nation,” a young man says in the footage.
