Gwen Stefani files for divorce from Gavin Rossdale after 13 years of marriage
Gwen Stefani has filed for divorce from Gavin Rossdale, reports the Daily Mail.
The couple have been married for almost 13 years and have three sons together: Kingston, nine, Zuma, who turns seven later this month, and 17-month-old Apollo.
They said in a joint statement: 'While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.'
Gwen, 45, filed papers to end their marriage in a California court, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The Bush frontman, 49, is said to have filed his response at the same time, and both parties are allegedly seeking joint custody of their children.
The website claims that the No Doubt singer is not planning on providing Gavin with spousal support.
According to TMZ - who broke the news - the two stars did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying
the knot on September 14, 2002.
Per California law, this means that they are each entitled to half of what their community property.
Gwen is said to be worth around $80million, while Gavin is believed to be worth approximately
$35million.
The couple have homes in Primrose Hill in London as well as Los Angeles.
The pair were last seen together celebrating the Fourth Of July at the home of Gwen's parents, along with their children.
On July 28, they were seen out separately but still wearing their wedding rings. Gavin was spotted at LAX while Gwen was pictured running errands in Sherman Oaks with the couple's three children.
Next month marks 13 years since Gwen and Gavin married in London. They held a second ceremony in Los Angeles two weeks later.
The musicians, who for the most part kept their relationship out of the public eye, started dating after meeting in 1995, when No Doubt opened for Bush on tour.
The couple's marriage was rocked in 2004 when Gavin discovered he had fathered a daughter, Daisy, from his previous relationship with British fashion designer Pearl Lowe.
Daisy - who was 14 at the time - took a DNA test after her mother revealed her suspicions that Gavin was the father.
The rocker reportedly immediately cut-off contact with both Pearl and Daisy after the paternity revelation but has since formed a relationship with his now 26-year-old fashion model daughter.
Gavin hit headlines again in 2010 when he admitted to having an 'experimental' fling - after having denied it years earlier - with cross-dressing pop singer Peter Robinson, aka Marilyn, in the 1980s.
He told Details magazine at the time: “When you're 17, Jesus Christ, I don’t think there’s anything strange about any form of anything - you’re learning about life. It’s a part of growing up - that’s it, no more, no less.”
