NBA star Dennis Rodman 'will be at historic meeting between President Trump and North Korea's dictator Kim Jong un'

NBA star Dennis Rodman will be at the historic meeting between Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next week, sources claim.

Trump and Kim will meet at 9am in Singapore on June 12 - which is 9 pm EDT, the Daily Mail reports.

And sources said that The Worm, who has famously built a bizarre friendship with the dictator in recent years, will arrive in the country on June 11 and could even play a role in negotiations.

“No matter what you might think about his presence. One thing's for sure the ratings will be huge,” a source told the New York Post.

A lot of times in situations that involve complex diplomacy countries like to identify ambassadors of goodwill and whether you agree with it or not Dennis Rodman fits the bill.'

Darren Prince, Rodman's rep, said the basketball legend had 'talked about it' but had not made any travel plans to Singapore - although he said he was willing to go if the world leaders wanted his input.

Prince said Rodman had been stung by the US reaction to his trips to North Korea and bromance with Kim, in the past.

'It seemed like everyone [in the US] turned on him and now things seem to be happening, so he's just happy it's happening. He's just hoping for a great historic outcome,' Prince said.

President Donald Trump said Friday after a meeting with the North Korean officials that he would attend the June 12 summit at the Capella Hotel, on Sentosa Island, and that he hopes will result in a nuclear non-proliferation accord with the hermit nation.

The officials came to Washington, after spending several days in New York, to hand-deliver a letter from Kim to the US president as the two sides worked to come to an agreement on the broad strokes of the deal they intend to hammer out next week, and possibly after that, during formal talks.

“This was a letter presentation that ended up being a two-hour conversation,' Trump told reporters on the South Lawn following the Oval Office meeting with North Korea's Kim Yong Chol, the point-man for North Korean nuclear talks. Trump said that the meeting stretched out, 'Because we found the whole subject matter very interesting. And because I really think they want to do something.”

Rodman had previously claimed he was partly responsible for easing the tension between Trump and Kim Jong-un.

Rodman told TMZ in April that he feels like Kim has had “a change of heart” regarding the way he feels about Trump and the US.

The basketball legend claims that when he went to visit North Korea in June 2017, he gave Kim books about Trump and America.

“I did a lot of things for Donald Trump. I think he [Kim] didn't realize who Donald Trump was at that time until I guess he started reading the books and started to get an understanding,” Rodman told TMZ.
