Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan received on Monday Mr. Luc Panissod, Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), who arrived in Armenia on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of the Scout Movement in Armenia.

Mayor Margaryan welcomed the guests and stressed the Scout Movement’s important mission. For years the Yerevan Municipality has supported the movement in Armenia and is now ready for further cooperation in launching new projects.

“The Scout Movement is widely spread throughout the world, including Armenia. I am offering my congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the Scout Movement in Armenia,” Mayor Margaryan said.

The Armenian National Scout Movement recently joined the Youth Committee of the Urban Development Council at the Yerevan Municipality. “This is one more proof that we have all the preconditions for effective cooperation,” Margaryan said.

Mr. Luc Panissod thanked the Yerevan mayor for a warm reception and for assisting the event marking the 100th anniversary of Armenian Scouting.

Mayor Taron Margaryan re-affirmed his readiness to support programs of physical training and spiritual education for youth.
