Each year presents people 365 beautiful white lambs, and everything depends on how people treat them, the writer and columnist Vachagan Sargsyan, Chief Editor of the 9th Miracle weekly, says, comparing each day of the year to a lamb, the most valuable present to the humankind.

“We must not just kill them barbarously, that is, kill time. We must make the right use of the most valuable treasure presented to us,” Mr V. Sargsyan told Tert.am. “We can give this time to others, save it, use it to show love, make our neighbors better,” he adds.
As to when Armenians mark the start of the days, he said: “The New Year has a number of names in Armenian – Navasard, Kaghand, Amanor, Tareglukh.”

Navasard was marked on August 11. It is believed to some from the times of legendary Hayk. Others claim that Navasard was Hayk’s son.

“At that time the royal family, army, officials’ households, clergymen were celebrating this holiday,” the writer said.

The word “Kaghand” means the head of the month and has been in use in western Armenian.

Vachagan Sargsyan’s wish is that, whenever and however Armenians celebrate the New Year, it bring good to them as the Armenians have for centuries proved they deserve a life of dignity.
