Armenian civic activists detained over suspicion of plotting turmoil

The Pre-Parliament Group’s civic activists, taken to the police earlier today, are now reported to be in detention.

According to a press release by the Special Investigative Committee, all the four (Zhirayr Sefilyan, Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavel Manukyan and Gevorg Safaryan) face suspicion over plotting mass turmoil in areas of public events.

Armenia’s National Security Service, in collaboration with the police, is conducting urgent investigative operations. Reports on the outcomes will be published later.
