Armenian Language Courses for Repatriates

Repat Armenia has been organizing free Armenian language classes since March 2023, bringing together 70 repatriates to Hovnanyan Family Foundation located at the address 37, Hanrapetutyan Street.

The project aims to assist in the social and professional integration of the Diaspora-Armenians who relocated to Armenia in the past couple of years. The Armenian language courses are being held in four modules: basic Armenian for Russian-speaking participants, basic Armenian for English-language participants, Western Armenian to Eastern Armenian adaptation module, and intermediate Armenian teaching divided into eight groups.

The duration of the classes is 2.5 months. At the end, certificates are provided.

Programs Manager of Repat Armenia Foundation Marianna Chobanyan says classes in this format are being held for the first time ever. Earlier, smaller-scale courses were organized for Lebanese-Armenians and participants from Russia and Belarus as part of a special professional repatriation training. The project is being implemented in collaboration with Big Mind, an educational center founded by a Syrian-Armenian repatriate. As many as 155 Diaspora-Armenians have applied for participation this time. Employees of Repat Armenia Foundation say they are hopeful the project will be ongoing.

Artyom Tigranyan, one of the participants, shared his positive impressions of the trainings, describing them as effective. "The Repat Armenia language courses helped me to learn and to systemize the basic skills. The classes are held at a convenient hour and in a convenient location, i.e. - in the heart of Yerevan. The wonderful professionals conducting the course find time for every student and always give interesting home assignments. The friendly atmosphere and the effective teaching materials help make the training far more interesting".

Launched in 2012, Repat Armenia Foundation aims to assist in the repatriation of experienced professionals, promote the integration of repatriates and create a real atmosphere conducive to repatriation.
